Which dynasty did Peking Opera originate from?

Beijing Opera originated in the Qing Dynasty of China. The formation of Peking Opera can be traced back to the late 18th and early 19th centuries, approximately between the reigns of Emperor Qianlong (1736-1795) and Emperor Daoguang (1821-1850). Specifically, Peking Opera was performed in Beijing around 1790 by the four major Anhui opera troupes (also known as the "Four Famous Troupe") from Anhui, and developed by integrating with other local operas such as Han Opera (a local opera in Hubei).

After entering Beijing, these Hui Opera troupes gradually combined with Kunqu Opera, Qin Opera Opera and other forms of opera. After decades of development and evolution, they finally formed a unique Peking Opera art. During the reigns of Emperor Qianlong and Emperor Jiaqing of the Qing Dynasty, Peking Opera gradually became a popular form of opera in both the imperial court and among the people, and continued to develop and improve over time, becoming a national treasure of China.
